Visitors will have the opportunity to talk one-on-one with the artists about their work while enjoying the market's lively atmosphere and supporting the local economy.

The market fosters student professional development and peer-to-peer networking, and provides funding for need-based student scholarships.

Vendors will accept the following forms of payment: Visa, MasterCard, cash, and check. Admission to the market is free.

THANK YOU!!!!

So...Holiday Heap was this past Saturday, and I FINALLY feel like I recovered from it! The Craft Mafia peeps got there at 5 AM to set up (and whoa was it early) and the show went from 10-5. I was amazed at how many people came to the show! Especially because it was SNOWING! We had such a great turn out and I met so many awesome shoppers (and fellow vendors!).

Thank you to everyone who came out to Holiday Heap and supported us crafters/micro business owners/artists! We love you!

Love,

Holiday Heap is TOMORROW!!!!

The Charm City Craft Mafia is proud to present Holiday Heap 2009. This year’s annual arts and crafts fair will be held on December 5th from 10-5pm at 2640 St. Paul Street (St. John's Church), Baltimore, MD 21218.

Holiday Heap brings together highly talented and infinitely creative artists and crafters from Baltimore and beyond to sell their wares in a festive indoor market. This year’s event will feature the finest in handmade jewelry, apparel, housewares, papergoods and soft sculpture. And at price points to fit every budget, and products to suit from the youngest on your list to the greatest of grandparents, you’ll be sure to find exactly what you’ve been hoping for.

At each event, the Charm City Craft Mafia raffles off a basket filled with an awesome assortment of goods and donates all the money raised to a local organization in need. This December, the money raised will be donated to Art With a Heart, Inc.

“Art with a Heart, Inc. brings the joy and benefit of visual art to those who need it most by providing hands-on art activities to disadvantaged families and children, and to people with developmental and physical challenges.” The Charm City Craft Mafia is proud to sponsor this incredible local program and excited to help them succeed!

Kiss My Crafts has a blog!!!! yay!

Hello there!! So, I have decided to start a blog for Kiss My Crafts! I am very excited to try out using a blog and share my work with the world! :)

I am going to start by posting some images of some of the work that I do before showing some of the new work I am designing now...The images above are just a few examples of the hand-painted ceramic tiles that I create. Each tile is *one-of-a-kind* and they take a while to draw out and paint. I use underglazes (basically colored clay in liquid form) and once the design is complete, I cover the tile with a glossy clear glaze, and fire it in an electric kiln to set the glaze. Each tile is then permanently adhered to a solid wood frame that has small rubber pads on all four corners as well as a hole on the back to hang. These tiles can be used as trivets, but I just like to hang them on the wall!
